A classic Left Bank Bordeaux and one of the best-value Cru Bourgeois wines, Château Lanessan 2021 delivers elegance, freshness, and structure in a refined, traditional style. Produced in the Haut-Médoc from gravel-rich soils ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, this vintage reflects a cooler year with excellent balance and finesse.
The blend is led by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, and aged for around 12 months in oak barrels (about one-third new), adding subtle complexity without overpowering the fruit. In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color. The nose offers aromas of red and black cherry, violet, and light spice, with hints of tobacco and oak. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and fresh, with fine-grained tannins, lively acidity, and a structured yet elegant finish.
The 2021 vintage is defined by its precision and drinkability, making it approachable earlier than more powerful years, while still retaining aging potential.
