A benchmark Amarone from one of Veneto’s most respected producers, Allegrini 2016 showcases the power, richness, and elegance of this exceptional vintage. Crafted from traditional grapes—Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and a touch of Oseleta—dried for several months before fermentation, it delivers remarkable concentration and depth.
In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby color with garnet reflections. The nose is intense and complex, offering aromas of dried cherry, plum, blackberry jam, and raisin, layered with notes of cocoa, tobacco, licorice, and sweet spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied, powerful, and velvety, with rich flavors of dark fruit compote, fig, and baking spices. Despite its concentration, the wine remains beautifully balanced by fresh acidity and refined tannins, giving structure and elegance. The finish is long, warm, and persistent, with lingering notes of chocolate, spice, and dried fruit.
The 2016 vintage is widely regarded as outstanding, offering both immediate appeal and excellent aging potential over the next 10–20 years.
