Weingut Scheiblhofer Batonnage 2019 is a powerful and prestigious red cuvée from the Burgenland region in Austria, widely regarded as one of Austria’s most iconic premium wines.
The wine is a blend of Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, with Blaufränkisch forming the main component. It is aged for about 18 months in new French oak barriques, giving the wine depth, structure, and remarkable complexity.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-garnet color with an intense bouquet of blackberries, dark cherries, plum, tobacco, and subtle smoky oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, powerful, and elegant, with ripe tannins, concentrated dark fruit, and hints of chocolate and spice that lead to a long, refined finish.
