Description
A classic mature Bordeaux from the highly regarded 1986 vintage, Château Lanessan shows the traditional elegance and structure of the Haut-Médoc.
In the glass, it presents a deep garnet core with brick and amber edges, reflecting its long bottle ageing. The bouquet is complex and evolved, opening with layers of blackcurrant, black cherry and plum, followed by classic tertiary aromas of cedar wood, tobacco, leather, forest floor, and sweet spices.
On the palate, the wine is dry, structured and fully developed, with silky, resolved tannins and a refined, savoury character. Mature dark fruit blends with notes of earth, cigar box, spice and aged wood, supported by still-present acidity that gives freshness. The finish is long, elegant and slightly earthy, with lingering spice and tobacco tones.
A wine in full maturity, offering the depth and complexity typical of fine aged Bordeaux from a strong vintage. Best enjoyed now, ideally after short aeration.
