Description
A powerful and refined Right Bank Bordeaux, Château Le Gay 2018 is one of the standout expressions of this estate, located on the prestigious Pomerol plateau. Crafted predominantly from Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, it reflects both richness and precision in an exceptional vintage. In the glass, it shows a deep, opaque ruby-purple color. The nose is highly expressive and complex, revealing layers of ripe plum, blackberry, black cherry, and cassis, interwoven with violet, licorice, cocoa, and subtle floral and spice nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated, and velvety, with a plush, polished texture. Ripe dark fruit dominates, supported by finely integrated tannins and impressive depth. Notes of chocolate, graphite, spice, and earthy undertones add complexity, while a fresh backbone keeps everything balanced. The finish is long, persistent, and elegant despite its power.
